Dr Cem Boke is a Research Associate in the Department of War Studies and the Centre for Science and Security Studies (CSSS). He currently works on projects associated with WMD proliferation and illicit trade networks, challenges to sanctions implementation, and sanctions evasion techniques, particularly in the maritime trade and transport domain.

Until August 2016, Cem worked at the NATO Intelligence Fusion Centre in the UK where he co-supervised production of long term socio-economic, security and political assessments for five regions (Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe, South Asia, Eurasia) and two cross-regional thematic branches (Strategic Branch and Counter Intelligence/Counter Terrorism/Cyber Security).

He has a PhD in Political Science from the University of Birmingham and a Master of Science in Operations Research from the United States Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT).
