Dariush M. Doust is a research professor at the Department of Philosophy at Shanxi University and the founder and director of the Centre for Contemporary Continental Philosophy at that department. He has formerly been professor of philosophy at Beijing Normal University and before moving to China, he worked at the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Goteborg, and is still affiliated researcher at the Department of History of Ideas at the University of Goteborg. He is equally a psycho-analyst with Lacanian orientation and an authorised psychotherapist.
He has been affiliated to the department of psycho-analysis at Paris VII and Paris VIII. His research covers the area between political philosophy, art theory and post-war French philosophy and intellectual tradition. He has written and published books and articles on ethics, on Lacanian theories, literature and art. He has equally designed several international art exhibitions and international conferences in which contemporary political and intellectual theories meet artistic practice.
