Gillian Kennedy is a Leverhulme Early Career Fellow. Her current research focuses on new diaspora networks among British-Egyptians between 2005 and 2015, exploring the connection between diaspora mobilisation and political engagement before and after the Arab Spring.

Gillian completed her PhD in the Department of Middle Eastern Studies at King’s College London. She also holds a master’s in International Relations from Dublin City University and a BA in History and Political Science from University College Dublin. Before joining King’s, she worked as a lecturer at Regent’s University London and as a Middle East and North Africa product development analyst for Global Data.
