Elena Wilson

Head of Strategic Communications

Biography

As Head of Strategic Communications, Elena collaborates with colleagues across King’s College London, and with local, national and global partners, to showcase and celebrate the delivery of the university's strategic ambitions.

Elena draws on the network of communications professionals across the university to amplify King’s education, research and service initiatives internally and externally. Using examples from across King's, she leads on the delivery of compelling digital content, engaging editorial and stimulating events to drive student, staff and external engagement with King's Vision and Strategy and demonstrate the university's commitment to its local, national and global communities.

Before joining King’s, Elena worked as Head of Media & PR at London & Partners where she led the media strategy for visitlondon.com across leisure tourism, business tourism and major events. Highlights include leading the media campaign for the Mayor of London’s trade mission to New York and Boston and the launch of London’s Autumn Season of Culture and Guest of Honour campaigns. 

Elena previously worked within communications agencies at Good Relations and Colman Getty and for charities including Oxfam, Lumos and Gingerbread. She has a BA (Hons) in Law and Business from the University of Liverpool where she was also a sabbatical officer in the Guild of Students.
