Emily is a Research Assistant at the Health and Social Care Workforce Research Unit. As part of an NIHR School of Social Care Research funded study, she is investigating how the changes in the Coronavirus Act 2020 were implemented in social care. Working with the study’s principle investigator, Dr. Mary Baginsky, Emily is researching the operation of Easements to England’s Care Act 2014.
Emily joined the unit in January 2021 after working for the social care partnership, Think Local Act Personal, which connects people who use care and support services with national organisations. Prior to this, Emily worked with children with learning disabilities.
Emily graduated with a Master’s degree in History in 2019, having written both of her undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations on the treatment of people with learning disabilities in the twentieth century. She convenes the Learning Disability Services Series at the Unit.
