Emma is a Research and Projects Associate at the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership, working on qualitative research and project management.
Emma was previously the Impact and Engagement Manager at the Policy Institute from 2016. Emma worked alongside other members of the Impact Team to deliver ‘Impact Partnerships’ with colleagues from across King’s to bring world-class research and policy making closer together.
Prior to her time at King’s Emma spent several years working at the international think tank Policy Network. During her time at Policy Network, Emma covered various operational roles, primarily handling Policy Network’s wide programme of events both internationally and domestically. In addition, she was the Stakeholder Relations Manager for the network and worked on developing and commissioning research into women’s relationship with the post-crisis labour market. Emma previously held a number of roles in Parliament assisting Labour MPs.
Emma has an undergraduate degree in British Politics and Legislative Studies from the University of Hull, as well as an MSc in Gender and Social Policy from the LSE. She is currently studying for a PhD at Birkbeck College looking at the development of family policy under New Labour.
