Frederik Anseel is Professor of Organisational Behaviour and Vice Dean of Research. Previously, he was Head of Department at Ghent University (Belgium) and held visiting positions at ESSEC Business School (France), Bocconi University (Italy) and University of Groningen (The Netherlands). Frederik Anseel is an elected Fellow of the International Association of Applied Psychology and he currently serves as the President of the European Association of Work and Organizational Psychology.

Frederik Anseel studies the psychological microfoundations of organizational learning, innovation and entrepreneurship. His recent work focuses on how leaders and individuals can overcome motivational obstacles during the innovation and entrepreneurial process to “keep the fire burning”. His work has been featured in media such as Harvard Business Review, BBC, Science, Nature, Psychology Today, the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and The Guardian.

Apart from his work in academia, he has several years of industry experience by founding and managing two consulting firms, including one university spin-off.  Through keynotes, executive coaching and consultancy, he has contributed to leadership development and performance management initiatives in a variety of industries such as banking, healthcare, consulting, government, energy management and manufacturing. His consulting clients include, among others KBC, BNP Paribas, Deloitte, KPMG, Gallup, Econocom, Engie, Pilips, Volvo.
