Before joining King’s, Dr Feld was a research assistant at the University of Hamburg (Germany). As well as writing her dissertation on 'Parental Involvement and Social Background in Canada and Germany: Limitations and Possibilities of a Comparative Analysis of the Progress in International Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS) 2011', she lectured on 'Empirical Methods in Educational Research' and 'Societal Conditions of Education in Germany'.
Furthermore, Dr Feld conducted a re-analysis on qualitative data considering the participation of female pupils in society and research on various projects, for example, the evaluation of a mentoring project in so called disadvantaged schools in Hamburg.
Her current research focuses on:
- youth participation and citizenship education
- international comparative education
Dr Feld is a research fellow funded by the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft – DFG) on a project titled 'Youth, Citizenship and Sense of Belonging in a Post-Brexit England'.
The proposed project will provide an in-depth analysis of the way in which young people perceive citizenship, possibilities of societal engagement and sense of belonging in England.
