Having recently completed his PhD at the Centre for Developmental Neurobiology, researching cell signalling during neural crest induction, Dr Pegge joined the Green lab to pursue his interest in early development.
The group are investigating the spontaneous elongation of groups of cells in response to mechanical cues to understand the self-organisation of tissues during embryogenesis. To do this they exploit the versatile tools available for the vertebrate Xenopus laevis as a model system.
