Jishan has an Applied Linguistics & English Language Teaching MA from King's College London in addition to the Diploma in English Language Teaching. For his MA, he focused on the field of discourse analysis of football print media. He also has a BSc and an MSc in Psychology for which his research areas were in memory and acculturation of immigrants.
Jishan has been an EAP teacher at UK universities for around fifteen years and has extensive experience in teaching on a range of foundation, pre-sessional and in-sessional programmes. While at King’s, he has been leading on and developing academic modules. He is also an author for Cambridge University Press for whom he has written students' and teachers' books for IELTS and First Certificate exam preparation courses in addition to general English course books and online modules, as well as delivering teacher training presentations and webinars to global audiences. Having worked in Spain teaching English, Jishan is an International ESOL examiner for Trinity College London often working in Spain and Italy.
He has a keen interest in the study of language and power, particularly in the fields of political and media discourse and has been an active member of his local political party. His other interests include travel and sport.
