I have been working at NIHR BRC Bioresource / Genomics & Biomarker Facility within King’s College London since July 2018.
My primary responsibilities include processing samples and facilitating the storage of various sample types from studies that our team assists. I support multi-site studies with project initiation, kit organisation, label requests and aid on the procedure of processing samples adhering to our SOPs.
I am competent in completing the DNA extraction of Saliva, Whole Blood and Buffy coat samples and I have been trained in the Illumina pipeline to do Pre-PCR and Post-PCR assays.
My previous job role primarily involved processing high risk HIV samples testing for CD4 count at St George's Hospital on the flow cytometer within a specialised diagnostic Haematology department Cell Markers.
I am qualified with a BEng in Medicial Engineering and an MSc in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology.
