Kirk is an Operations Officer at the Centre for Science and Security Studies (CSSS), which is based in the School of Security Studies at King's. He is responsible for communications, website development, and logistics in relation to the operations of CSSS.
Kirk first joined the School of Security Studies (SOSS) as an MA International Peace and Security candidate in the Department of War Studies in September 2016. After completing his MA, Kirk gained experience working for a small digital strategy consultancy and, later, for SOSS, where he worked to expand SOSS digital presence through the production of social media posts, written articles, podcasts and videos to promote the School's contributions in academia and policy.
Additionally, before studying at King's, Kirk achieved a BA in Political Science with a minor focus in Peace Studies at the University of North Texas in May 2015. While pursuing his BA, Kirk served as a Research Assistant on a UNT pilot study conducted in cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. This study ultimately led to the publication of “Echoes of Testimonies,” which can be found on the United Nations’ website.
