Biography
Linda Slapakova is a PhD researcher at the King's Centre for Military Health Research, King's College London. She joined the department in 2025 and her research is focusing on intimate partner violence and abuse (IPVA) among military populations. Her PhD project is investigating the patterns and pathways of IPVA among military personnel and veterans, using data from a cohort study of UK Armed Forces personnel who deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. Her work is being funded by the London Interdisciplinary Social Science Doctoral Training Partnership (LISS-DTP).
Alongside her PhD work, Linda leads research on the Defence workforce and Armed Forces Community at RAND Europe, a non-profit policy research institute. Since joining RAND in 2019, she has led a number of studies on UK Defence personnel policy, experiences and support needs of Armed Forces personnel and veterans, and the impact of military service life on military families.
Linda holds an M.Phil. in international relations from the University of Oxford and a B.A. in international affairs from Vesalius College, Brussels.
