Biography

Louise holds a BA in German Linguistic Studies (University of Southampton), an MA in Transnational Studies (University of Southampton) and a PhD in Sociolinguistics (King’s College London). Louise’s PhD was funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), and her thesis was titled: Linguistic Landscape: An interactional perspective.

Louise’s research interests include language practices in diverse urban contexts and language, place and space. Her research draws on linguistic ethnography and interactional sociolinguistics.

Louise has been contributing to teaching in linguistics at King’s since 2015. She teaches assessed modules in the Modern Language Centre and the School of Education, Communication & Society.
