Biography

Louise holds NMC registrations in Adult, Mental health and Learning disability nursing, her clinical specialty being in psychiatric intensive care nursing (PICU). She re-joined King’s in October 2017 following two years as a Nurse Consultant in Acute & Restrictive Practice but was a previously a Lecturer at King’s since September 2002, in addition to being an Honorary Nurse Consultant at South West London & St Georges MH NHS Trust in PICU. 

Louise is widely published, most recently in the importance of the bio-psycho-pharmaco-social approach to assessment, management and behavioural support planning for patients in all fields of nursing. She is active at a national level in the reduction of restrictive practices and interventions and has contributed to the Reducing Restrictive Practice Programme (Royal College of Psychaitrists, 2018) and the British Institute of Learning Disabilities (2019) guidance for the Restraint Reduction network (RRN).
