Mattias Nilsson joined the Qatar Centre for Global Banking and Finance, King’s Business School as a Predoctoral Researcher in October 2021. Before joining King’s, Mattias completed traineeships at the European Central Bank in Frankfurt and the European Commission Joint Research Centre in Ispra. He holds a MSc in Economics from the University College London and a BSc in Economics and Econometrics from the University of Nottingham.

His primary research interests relate to questions regarding Monetary Policy, International Economics, and Productivity. Examples of previous projects he has been involved in have studied the effects of trade shocks on firm misallocation, and invoicing practices in international trade.

Currently he is involved in research projects related to environmental economics, that look at assess quality of firms emission disclosures and the effect of flooding’s on the mortgage market.
