Miranda previously completed her MA in Intelligence and International Security in KCL’s War Studies Department, as well as a BA in political science from Yale University. Miranda lived in Beijing, China for 10 years, and maintains an academic and professional interest in China’s involvements abroad, particularly related to African security issues.
Which military reintegration practices are most effective at reconstructing stable national armed forces after civil wars?
This research aims to understand how to integrate military groups on opposing sides of civil wars into post-conflict security institutions, mainly the army and police forces. The case studies for this research are Angola, Mozambique, and South Africa.
