Monica Ding received her PhD from King’s College London, and her MPhil and BA from the University of Hong Kong. Her research interests include epistemology, philosophy of language, AI, and classical Chinese philosophy. She also has a particular interest in linguistic research on Cantonese and its potential contributions to current philosophical topics.

• Epistemology, in particular the nature of understanding and norms of assertion.
• Philosophy of Language, in particular epistemic verbs in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English.
• Philosophy of AI, in particular whether AIs have knowledge and understanding and the issue of misinformation in the age of AI.
• Classical Chinese Philosophy, in particular Xunzi and Zhuangzi
