Biography

Naomi co-ordinates departmental activity that is not related to programme or student administration, working with academic staff in the department to ensure the smooth running of the department, particularly in relation to finances and budgets, space planning & facilities and HR procedures:

  • Manages the departments’ finances on a day-to-day basis, including post-award grant management
  • Manages and authorises purchasing and procurement for the department as required
  • Responsible for arranging contracts for temporary teaching staff
  • Responsible for HR matters in the department including recruitment, academic staff probation, appraisals, promotion and induction of new staff
  • Responsible for recruiting PhD students as teaching assistants, setting them up as casual workers and processing payments
  • Manages departmental space planning for the department
