Biography
Niamah Nishan received her BSc in Biological Sciences in 2023, before she pursued an MRes at UCL in Experimental and Translational Immunology where she explored the impact of the fibrotic liver microenvironment on CD8+ T cells. She’s currently a Research Assistant in the Dart Lab where she investigates the relationship between γδT cells and the intestinal epithelium. As γδT cells are a type of “unconventional” T cells, they constantly survey the intestinal epithelium. She seeks to understand this relationship using 3D in-vitro models called organoids that act as “mini guts” as well as bioinformatics approaches like single-cell sequencing.
