Biography

Nozomi Itani is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Women and Children's Health. She specialised in reproductive biology during her BSc and MSc at the University of Edinburgh, where she investigated how undernourishment in pregnancy affects fertility in the next generation. She then gained a PhD in fetal cardiovascular physiology from the University of Cambridge. She is currently looking at the effects of maternal obesity during pregnancy on the metabolic and cardiovascular system of subsequent generations. She is a member of The Physiological Society, Fetal and Neonatal Physiological Society and the Royal Society of Biology.
