Biography

Srilata Sircar is a Research Associate in the Department of Geography. Srilata positions herself as a feminist and postcolonial geographer interested in the processes of urbanization and agrarian change in the global south.

Born and raised in Kolkata, India she received a BA (Hons) in History from St Stephen's College, Delhi and a MA in Development Studies from TISS, Mumbai. She received her PhD in Human Geography from Lund University, Sweden in 2017 where she also worked as the Director of the MSc International Development and Management program. Srilata is a contributing writer for Feminism in India. Her other interests include documentary film-making and exploring the intersections of art, activism and academia.
