Dr Rasmus Birk is a visiting postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Global Health & Social Medicine. He is working on a qualitative project that explores experiences of anxiety and depression and the spatial routines amongst young people in South East London.
His background is within psychology and sociology. He completed his PhD in 2017, which focused on practices of community work in marginalised urban areas in Denmark, and since then he has been working as an Assistant Professor in General Psychology at Aalborg University in Denmark.
Rasmus' research interests are broad (and always evolving) but centre broadly on mental health, urban areas, qualitative methods and the philosophy of subjectivity.
