Sarah Gordon is Chief Executive at the Impact Investing Institute. Prior to this, she spent 18 years at the Financial Times, where she ran the paper's corporate coverage during the financial crisis, and was most recently business editor. She joined the FT in 2001 on the UK companies desk before becoming deputy personal finance editor. She later spent three years as a writer and assistant editor on the Lex column.Before joining the Financial Times, Gordon worked in emerging markets fund management for Citigroup’s asset management business and at Foreign & Colonial, reviewing political and economic events and producing analysis of the global economy. She started her career working for the UN Conference for Trade and Development debt management programme in Geneva. She was a panel member of the recent independent inquiry into the future of civil society, led by Julia Unwin CBE, and was formerly a trustee of CSV, one of the UK’s largest volunteering charities.
