Sarah is Deputy Director and Director of Policy Impact, overseeing the Policy Institute's communications and engagement activities as well as working with colleagues across King’s interested in generating impact from their research. She also works closely with the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership and International School for Government.
Prior to joining King’s, Sarah worked in the charity sector for over 12 years, most recently for the UK’s largest breast cancer charity, where she led large multidisciplinary teams responsible for developing evidence-based policies, public affairs and campaigning, award-winning information, public health initiatives and service improvements.
As part of the NHS England Breast Cancer Clinical Reference Group, she provided advice on the strategic planning of breast cancer services. Sarah was also a media spokesperson, appearing regularly on radio and television.
Sarah has a PhD from the School of Biosciences at the University of Birmingham and experience as a post-doctoral research scientist at Birmingham and in the Department of Surgery at UCL.
