Dr Silvia Giampieri

School Research & Partnerships Manager

Biography

I trained as a biologist and, whilst starting up as a laboratory scientist, over the years I have gravitated towards hybrid/multi-faced roles in health research, where I could combine traditional research activities, with Patient & Public Involvement and programme/partnership management.

I have always enjoyed the variety my roles and interacting with different groups of people, including researchers, senior academics, funders, fellow research managers, clinicians, patients, students etc and learnt that each individual has the potential to support advancement of research, even if all in different manners.

As Research & Partnerships Manager at the School of Life Course and Population Sciences, I am keen on capitalising and expanding opportunities for collaborations & partnerships development, both locally and globally, and aim to support an inclusive and innovative research environment, where all can contribute and feel valued.
