Dr Tom Wilkinson is a Research Fellow in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, School of Biomedical Engineering & Imaging Sciences. He has over 10 years of experience with preclinical MRI at ultra-high field. After obtaining a BSc in Physics from the University of Warwick he began research into preclinical 7 Tesla models at the University of Manchester. Obtaining his PhD in Medicine in 2015 he then began working for MR Solutions, a preclinical MRI manufacturer, as a Pulse Sequence Developer. During his time in industry he worked on a range of projects from T1 mapping sequences to DTI analysis. He joined King’s College London in 2020 as an MRI Physicist where he’s working on the new 7T system.
