Biography

Vivienne Moxham-Hall is a Research Associate at the Policy Institute interested in public health policy, drug policy, equity and diversity. She has experience working across government, NGO and academic sectors, as a Policy Officer the NSW state government health department, as Vice President of the Australian Drug Law Reform Foundation, and as a Board Director for the University of Sydney Union and Australian think tank Australia21.

She obtained her PhD, which looked at composite indexes as a measure of drug policy, from the University of New South Wales in 2019, and won the Dean’s award (Faculty of Medicine) for outstanding thesis.

She also holds a Master of Health Policy, a Bachelor of Science, a Bachelor of Arts majoring in immunology and philosophy respectively, from the University of Sydney.

Vivienne has been involved in projects such as investigating the deterrent effects of policing at music festivals and licensed entertainment precincts, and evaluating the provision of drug and alcohol residential treatment services for Queensland Health.
