Student member of College Council

President of King's College London Student Union (KCLSU).

Biography

Zahra Syed is the President of KCLSU for 2021-2022 and the student member for the College Council. She is also a membe of the Governance and Nominations Committee.

Zahra is completing her undergraduate degree studies in Religion, Politics and Society from at King’s College London. She has been a student representative for her department, a King’s student ambassador and has proactively engaged with different students societies throughout her time at King’s. She was the Co-President for the KCLSU Intersectional Feminist Society. She has also been on the Arts and Humanities collaborative research fund panel for the Black Lives Matter movement. She is dedicated to creating a positive and welcoming environment at King’s which works for every student from different backgrounds. She hopes to achieve this partially through tackling harassment on campus and working on improving student mental health.

She is proud to see the student voice being represented at the highest governing body at King’s especially following the appointment of the KCLSU VP Postgraduate as an observer at Council meetings, which will amplify and represent student voice.

She hopes to bring insightful views to Council and work together on advancing the King’s experience for all students.
