Wenny (Zhengwen) joined King’s College London in 2010 after completing her PhD in Cancer Biology at Karolinska Institutet in Sweden and worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate with Professor Paul Sharpe on stem cell research from 2010-2018. She joined the team of Professor Tony Ng as Research Fellow in the early of 2019 and works on the cancer immunology projects. She is interested in the role of innate lymphoid cells (ILCs) in cancer immunosurveillance especially the immunomodulation of ILCs and adaptive/innate immunity on the formation of pre-metastatic niches in high-metastatic risk TNBC. With a great passion for cancer immunotherapy, she aims to better understand the mechanism of cancer metastatic relapse and chemotherapy resistance thus, to help provide rational immunotherapeutic strategies for clinical application. Wenny was also a qualified dentist in China and with multidisciplinary knowledge in dentistry, cancer research, stem cell research and now the enthusiasm in immunology, she is hoping to boost the research interests with interdisciplinary connections.
