Biography

Dr Zia Ush Shamszaman is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Cyber Security Education in the Department of Informatics at King's College London and affiliated with Cybersecurity and Distributed Artificial Intelligence research group. His research combines artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and Evolutionary Game Theory (EGT) to develop trustworthy, secure and resilient intelligent systems. His research interests include AI security, cooperative and multi-agent AI, adversarial machine learning, federated learning, trustworthy AI, AI governance, and cybersecurity for critical systems.

Before joining King's, he was a Senior Lecturer in Computer Science at Teesside University, Uk where he led teaching in cybersecurity and AI, supervised doctoral and master's researchers, and collaborated extensively with industry, healthcare and the public sector. As PI, he has secured and led research and innovation projects funded by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) and Innovate UK, including Cyber Local, TechLocal and CyberASAP, delivering impactful solutions in AI assurance, cyber resilience and digital skills.

Dr Shamszaman is a FHEA an EPSRC Peer Review College Member, a Senior Member of IEEE, a Professional Member British Computer Society (BCS), and serves on the Elsevier Advisory Panel. His research aims to advance the security, trustworthiness and resilience of intelligent systems for high-impact applications in healthcare, critical infrastructure and autonomous systems through interdisciplinary research spanning AI, cybersecurity and Evolutionary Game Theory.
