Terms & Conditions of Employment
Document profile
Terms and conditions of employment summarise the main aspects of your appointment at King’s. They should be read alongside your contract of employment and any other documents associated with your appointment.
The terms and conditions below apply to colleagues employed on a full-time, indefinite contract. If you are on a fixed-term or part-time contract, or if you have an unusual work pattern, you should refer to your contract of employment. This will explain how the terms and conditions apply for you, worked out on a pro rata basis.
Should you have any queries, please contact Human Resources.
Terms and conditions of employment for academic staff
Academic staff – defined as clinical and non-clinical colleagues with the title of Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Reader or Professor – should refer to Terms and conditions of employment (harmonised) for academic staff.
Clinical academics should additionally refer to their clinical addendum. This includes information about clinical activity and modifies some aspects of the terms and conditions, for example, annual leave.
Terms and conditions of employment for research, teaching‑only and Professional Services staff
Non-academic staff – defined as research, teaching‑only, and Professional Services colleagues – should refer to Terms and conditions of employment (harmonised) for non-academic staff.
