The Comparative Politics research group analyses a broad range of topics covering particular regional areas or cross-country comparisons across time. Our most current research includes the following areas:

  1. Electoral integrity.
  2. Electoral fraud and electoral violence.
  3. Gender and political representation.
  4. Religious extremism and social mobilisation in the Middle East.
  5. Determinants of democracy.
  6. Political representation and regime stability.
