Develop professional communication in an era defined by global interconnectedness and artificial intelligence (AI).
Using the Culturally Competent Communication (CCC) Guide and real-world scenarios, the course explores multilingual and translanguaging strategies, empowering professionals to enhance their collaboration, problem-solving, and service delivery skills in complex environments.
Through interactive case studies, quizzes, contested dialogues, and reflective practice, you will develop the confidence and knowledge needed to engage constructively with disagreement and diverse perspectives in global professional settings.
Guided by Dr Shuangyu Li, Reader and Director of King’s Cultural Competency at King’s College London, this course will help professionals to create inclusive, equitable and fair workplaces.
Course format
This course is delivered through the edX learning platform and is designed to be completed in approximately 5 hours, along with 3 hours of self-directed study.

By the end of this course, students should be able to:
- Understand the intersections of language, power, culture and ethics in workplace interactions
- Navigate sensitive communication with creativity and culturally informed judgement
