COURSE OVERVIEW
Despite huge advances in pain management meaning that modern dental treatments are almost free of pain, anxiety about undergoing dental treatment is still very common and can cause huge distress to both patients and dental care professionals. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Techniques are an evidence based way to help patients manage and overcome dental fear in a time- and cost efficient manner.
The comprehensive course will provide health care professionals with an integrated approach to the fruitful therapy and management of patients with dental fear with particular reference to the principles of CBT in dental fear treatment. It will also provide a hands on guidance in how to successfully set-up a behavioural sciences based service for dental fear.
