Postgraduate study in Mental Health & Psychological Sciences

The School of Mental Health & Psychological Sciences is home to many of the basic and evaluative sciences (e.g., psychology, genetics, economics, statistics, informatics) that underpin  IoPPN research; and expertise (psychology, service research and implementation science) that improves the impact of scientific breakthroughs across King’s Health Partners (KHP). Our teaching and research links across the whole IoPPN. Mental Health & Psychological Sciences embraces research, education and clinical translation aiming to further understand and improve mental health and brain disease and train the next generation of researchers and practitioners.

We offer postgraduate taught programmes and internationally renowned clinical training programmes for mental health professionals.

We offer a range of postgraduate taught programmes across the School of Mental Health & Psychological Sciences.

Our courses

Duration: One Year

This course has been created to deliver a skill set and knowledge base in “multimodal” and “big data” analysis techniques.

Duration: 12 months full-time, October to October

This course provides training to equip you with the necessary skills to become an independent CBT practitioner in accordance with the BABCP guidelines.

Duration: 24 months part-time.

This course equips students with a critical understanding of psychological models of psychosis and the skills to deliver cognitive behavioural interventions.

Duration: 12 months full-time. September to September

This course will develop your knowledge about genetic and environmental causes of developmental psychopathology across the lifespan.

Duration: 12 months full-time. September to September

Jointly run with the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, this course will develop your understanding of the diverse issues in global mental health.

This BPS-accredited course is specifically designed for graduate psychologists who wish to go on to becoming registered Health Psychologists with the HCPC .
