The Bruker timsTOF fleX MALDI-2 is an advanced mass spectrometry imaging platform that integrates MALDI imaging with Trapped Ion Mobility Spectrometry (TIMS) and MALDI-2 post-ionization to deliver enhanced sensitivity, spatial resolution, and speed. MALDI-2 boosts ion yield by up to 1000×, enabling detection of low-abundance molecules, while TIMS adds ion mobility separation for improved identification of isomers and isobars. With spatial resolution down to 5 µm, rapid data acquisition, and rich 4D molecular information (mass, mobility, fragmentation, and spatial location), the system is well suited for high-throughput tissue imaging and applications in drug discovery, clinical research, proteomics, lipidomics, and metabolomics. A unique dual source arrangement of laser and liquid delivery allows for standard HPLC to delivery liquid sample types for identification.
