Establishing an interdisciplinary Health Law Research Network at King’s: From Clinic to Court

Hosted and funded by The Dickson Poon School of Law, we’re inviting colleagues across King’s who are working at the interface of health, law, or justice and use data to understand death and dying to unite and collaborate.

Led by Dr Georgia Richards, the founder of the Preventable Death Tracker, the network is seeking to bring colleagues and students together to identify synergies and opportunities to strengthen research collaborations between faculties for people working on death and dying.

There are several well-recognised individuals and projects occurring across King's that focus on different aspects of death and dying, from estate planning, mental capacity and coronial law to death registries and palliative/end-of-life care. However, despite such strengthens there weren’t formally opportunities to bring together researchers and establish ways of working together.

Through King’s AI+ Academic Fellowships, Dr Richards is based in both The Dickson Poon School of Law and the Faculty of Life Sciences and Medicine and thus is uniquely positioned to support this unity. Her research uses information from death investigations to identify areas for learning, prevention, and improvements in the health, care, and justice systems.

We are now inviting expressions of interest for internal staff and students to get involved in establishing this network. If you’re interested in joining, please fill in this form.
