Aldous Group

Research at the Aldous Group focuses on thermoelectrochemistry and biomass utilisation.

ALS/motor neuron disease

Working closely with our patients, our prize-winning, world-leading research programme aims to understand the causes of ALS/MND, dissect out the differences between clinical presentations, and use this information to develop new treatments.

Alzheimer's disease

We research the underlying causes of Alzheimer's disease, including genetics and environmental factors, to determine why only some people are affected. We also research the mechanisms that lead to disease to discover/isolate events at the cellular level that cause Alzheimer's disease.

The Analysis Group's research interests focus mainly on PDEs, operator theory and spectral theory.

Apolonia Group

We use diverse, integrated techniques and approaches from cell culture, virology, molecular biology, biochemistry and bioinformatics to uncover novel innate inhibitors and dependency factors of HIV, Influenza, SARS-CoV-2, and other viruses.

Atherton Group

The Atherton Group aims to unveil the mechanisms of microtubule-associated regulators and molecular motors integral to cellular function and dysfunction.
