Our research is focused on the molecular mechanisms that regulate the dynamics of contraction and relaxation in skeletal and cardiac muscle. We study these mechanisms at the cell and subcellular level using a combination of muscle mechanics, fluorescence-based optical methods and photolysis of caged compounds.
