Equipping research students to excel

King’s College London is a research-intensive university with a global reputation for academic discovery and teaching.

The Centre for Doctoral Studies is responsible for attracting world-class doctoral candidates to King's as well as equipping research students to excel in the academy, in public service, in industry, and beyond.

The Centre for Doctoral Studies is a university-wide professional services centre at King's with responsibility for sustaining and improving the postgraduate research student (PGR) experience.

We do this by setting and enhancing standards, providing support and training, and improving provision for postgraduate students across King's.

How we support Postgraduate Researchers

The Centre for Doctoral Studies is responsible for the postgraduate research student experience and ensuring doctoral candidates are equipped to excel - in their research, in their careers, and beyond.

We achieve this by working with and on behalf of research students in a number of ways, setting and enhancing standards, providing support and training, and improving provision for postgraduate students across King's.

Our focus is on four key areas:

Support – improving support services & providing timely and useful information

Funding – attracting and resourcing research students

Training – offering high quality personal, professional, academic, & career development opportunities

Community – nurturing a collaborative & welcoming environment for all research students
