Our researchers explore the critical social, technological and economic challenges of sustainability transitions, and help reconfigure socio-technical systems, leveraging AI and green energy and materials. We work with businesses and public sector partners, national and local policy-makers and communities to accelerate solutions – from sustainable cities and housing to power systems and grids, transport and logistics, sustainable leadership, supply chains, Environment & Social Governance and economics, green finance and markets.

Transforming our economies is crucial to more sustainable, fairer outcomes for all. Projects that address sustainable innovation include building workforce resilience to designing green transport systems, incorporating environmental and social sustainability into decision-making and strategic leadership, green marketing and mapping the relationship between sustainability objectives and market economies.

Our research supports sustainable transitions at many levels, driving change through a range of strategic approaches and engagement with communities and consumers. Our researchers are building capabilities of business and public sector partners; informing policies and regulations, models and methods; exploring the core leadership and strategic changes needed for effective change; and combining market and community-based mechanisms.
