The Peace, Conflict, and International Politics Research Group builds on the varied interdisciplinary expertise in the Department of Political Economy to stimulate research led by scholars and PhD students using philosophical approaches and empirical social science via qualitative and quantitative methods.

The group members engage in projects which illuminate questions related to state and non-state violence, formal and informal institutional development and design, domestic and international institutions for peace and conflict resolution, international law, the peace dividend and the cost of violence, social unrest and social movements, and the political economy of conflict.

It brings together expertise in international relations theory, international political economy, institutional and behavioural economics, comparative politics, and political and legal philosophy.
