Theme 2 - Experimental Medicine approaches to heart failure
Heart failure (HF) is a complex and heterogeneous condition, often occurring alongside multiple comorbidities, particularly in HFpEF. Conventional strategies for translating therapies from pre-clinical studies have had limited success. Theme 2 addresses this challenge by applying experimental medicine approaches in humans in vivo to dissect key pathophysiological mechanisms and test targeted interventions. Our goal is to enable precision treatment by guiding patient selection, identifying novel biomarkers, and accelerating translation through deep phenotyping, AI-enabled imaging, and integrated studies across themes.
