BBSRC iCASE Studentships

The Institute of Pharmaceutical Science has received six, fully funded, four-year BBSRC iCASE studentships from the London Interdisciplinary Doctoral Programme for a total inward investment of around £780,000. The deadline for applications is 22 January 2021. Interested applicants are encouraged to approach the project supervisor.

The respective projects are as follows:

Title: Multi-mode imaging to underpin a drug development pipeline for a new, peptide class of antibiotics

CSC-King’s Studentships

The School of Cancer & Pharmaceutical Science is pleased to announce that applications for CSC-King’s studentships are now open at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

The Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences has a history of success in attracting competitive CSC-King’s PhD candidates to work in a multidisciplinary environment with researches undertaken in the areas of Medicines Discovery, Medicines Development and Medicines Use. We have won 12 studentships over the past three years.

We are inviting potential students to contact suitable supervisors at the earliest opportunity. If you need help connecting you to a suitable supervisor, please contact Professor Khuloud Al-Jamal. Nominations are restricted to one student per supervisor. Deadline for internal nomination by supervisors is 19 November 2020.

"My PhD project is focussing on making functionalised gold nanotubes as drug delivery carriers. This is a multidisciplinary work which includes nanoparticle synthesis/preparation, ligand modification and correlation of the physicochemical properties of gold nanoparticles with its in vivo applications. I am truly fortunate to be trained by world-leading scientists."
