Dr Robert Calder
Professional background and current research
Rob started working at the Social Care Workforce Research Unit (now the Health & Social Care Workforce Research Unit) in October 2018 on the HEARTH study. Rob completed his PhD in 2018 which studied how to optimise online learning resources for addiction treatment staff. This mixed-methods study was funded by the IoPPN Prize Studentship.
Rob has previously worked with Professor Ann McNeill on tobacco policy contributing to reports for Cancer Research UK and Public Health England, as well as giving presentations for the Department of Health and SRNTe. Rob has over ten years’ experience working with substance misuse and mental health service users. He completed the MSc in Addiction Studies at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) in 2014, gaining prizes for his research project and overall scores.
