Dr Gaia Cetrano
Since October 2015 Gaia has been working at King's on the project Delivering primary health care to homeless people: an evaluation of the integration, effectiveness and costs of different models. At the Unit, she also works with Jess Harris and colleagues on the Longitudinal Care Work Study (LoCS).
Research interests include psychiatric epidemiology, health systems analysis, quality of working life in health and social services, and social care outcomes evaluation.
With a background in social work, Gaia was awarded her PhD in Psychiatric Sciences from the University of Verona in spring 2015 with her thesis Quality assessment of mental health and social care services. Findings from the European REFINEMENT project and an Italian multicentre study. As part of her PhD Gaia has worked on the FP7 project called REFINEMENT (REsearch on FINancing systems’ Effect on the quality of MENTal health care), her contribution being the mapping of mental health services in nine European study areas and the development of a set of tools for the assessment of mental health care provision in Europe.
