HRP team

John Miles

John Miles has been a community development worker with older people in London for thirty years and worked on the Camden Quality of Life Strategy at the start of the last decade. He was awarded a Masters in Gerontology at King's College, London in 1990, holds a diploma in cognitive therapies, and is currently a postgraduate student at Keele University, completing a PhD on the intergenerational initiatives of the city of Manchester.

John was a founder member of OPAAL, the Older Peoples Advocacy Alliance, and recently completed six years as a member of the executive of the British Society of Gerontology. Since 2007 he has been a member of the Homelessness Research Programme team, assisting with tracking and interviewing homeless people for the FOR-HOME and Rebuilding Lives studies.
