The inter-disciplinary and world leading research in the School of Life Course Sciences spans landmark life-stages with the origins and understanding of common diseases using experimental medicine approaches encompassing basic sciences (genetics, molecular and cell biology) as well as translational (preclinical and clinical) research.
PhD/MD (Res) students can study a range of topics including:
The origins and life course of disease at all stages in life
Interactions between cause and effect - such as those which link environmental exposure/nutrition and genetics to development of diseases such as diabetes, obesity and allergy
Early detection, treatment and prevention of diseases
