Geographers win Best Pitch Award during King's Lions Den

Posted on 27/02/2014

Congratulations to Alice Holden and Fleurette Mulcahy, both third years, and Jessie Heemskerk, one of our postgraduate students, who triumphed at the King's College Lions Den final winning the Best Pitch Award for their company, Attollo Lingerie. This might seem a long way from geography but the transferable skills they learned about identifying a problem, carrying out research, designing a solution, working in groups and understanding different ways of presenting ideas are abilities that they all learned as students in the Geography Department. Of course, it needs imagination and creativity as well and our three students, are also putting that to good use in the designs for their range of lingerie.

To hear more about their company and the success they achieved please visit their Facebook page.
